Dave Lambert

Dave began his music career in 1989 writing Balearic house music reviews for newly legal Kiss FM’s Free! magazine and then co-founded Touch Magazine with fellow Free staffers in 1990. During this time Dave was getting warm up sets with the likes of Trevor Nelson, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson and Andy Weatherall and helped launch the Fresh night in London with fellow residents Danny Rampling and Judge Jules and was a resident at Spirit and then Spice with Roy The Roach, Judge Jules and DJ Harvey. Fresh was re-launched at Legends in 1993 as Peach with Kiss FM DJ Graham Gold headlining an hosted debut UK DJ appearances from Tiesto, Erick Morillo and Armin van Buuren and ran weekly in London until 2004 and has, over the last 4 years, sold out KOKO in London for the annual Peach Reunion.

In January 1993 XL boss Nick Halkes tapped Dave to join him at EMI UK to help set up his new Positiva dance imprint.

At Positiva Dave signed a string of club and chart successes including Reel 2 Real, Barbara Tucker, The Bucketheads, BBE, George Morel, Ruffneck, Scot Project, PF Project and Jeremy Healy & Amos before leaving to helm the AM:PM label at Island Records in 1998 where he signed Armin van Buuren to his first major deal and scored hits with DJ Jean ‘The Launch’, Southside Spinners ‘Luvstruck’ and the UK No. 1 single ‘King Of My Castle’ by Wamdue Project.

AM:PM joined forces with Serious Records in 2001 to form the focus of the Universal UK dance music set up with Dave taking up the role of Director Of A&R sourcing and overseeing releases from Brit winner Sonique, Ultra Nate, Madhouse, Mousse T and Safri Duo.

Over the last 15 years Dave has found himself involved in a variety of electronic music ventures. A keen runner and triathlete, in 2007 Dave released the first continuous mix running album on iTunes and subsequently produced a series of bespoke DJ mixed workout albums with Men’s Health magazine and Ministry Of Sound.

From 2011-2013 Dave was Head Of A&R for Strictly Rhythm steering them back into the UK Top 10 with Ray Foxx’s ‘Boom Boom (Heartbeat)’ and in 2014 returned to Island Records in as A&R consultant signing hits from Tough Love, Lvndscape & Boiler, 3LAU, Nicky Romero and The Chainsmokers to their first major deal.

Dave currently manages Ryan Blyth, Hot Source and the US based duo Just Us whilst overseeing their Shadow Box imprint and his own Enorme label.

He is also a consultant with the FaderPro online music production resource.
